Born on June 10, 1916, in Boston, Massachusetts, Rosenberg was an American businessman who founded the iconic global doughnut company, Dunkin' Donuts.

Rosenberg's early life was marked by financial hardship during the Great Depression. Despite the challenging times, he demonstrated a knack for business from an early age. He started working at a young age to support his family, and his experiences in various jobs, including at an ice cream company, would later influence his business endeavors.

After serving in World War II, Rosenberg returned to civilian life and ventured into the food service industry, initially with Industrial Luncheon Services, a company that delivered meals and coffee break snacks to factory workers. Recognizing the popularity of coffee and doughnuts among workers, he opened his first coffee and doughnut shop, 'Open Kettle,' in Quincy, Massachusetts, in 1948. Two years later, he renamed the shop 'Dunkin' Donuts.'

Under Rosenberg's guidance, Dunkin' Donuts expanded rapidly. He was a pioneer in the franchise model, allowing him to grow the brand while maintaining quality and consistency across locations. By the time of his death on September 20, 2002, Dunkin' Donuts had become a household name with hundreds of stores worldwide, serving millions of customers.

Although Rosenberg was not an artist in the traditional sense, his creativity and innovation in the business realm can be likened to an art form in itself. He built a brand that has had a lasting impact on the food industry and American culture. Rosenberg's legacy is not only in the form of a global chain of coffee and doughnut shops but also in his philanthropic efforts and contributions to the franchise industry. He was inducted into the Junior Achievement U.S. Business Hall of Fame in 1995 and authored a book, 'Time to Make the Donuts: The Founder of Dunkin Donuts Shares an American Journey,' which details his life and business philosophy.
