Ida Marie Margrethe Heerfordt was a Danish artist born on April 16, 1878, in Copenhagen, Denmark. She is known for her contributions to painting and illustration, with a particular focus on portraits and floral subjects. Coming from an artistic family, her father was the painter and professor Carl Ludvig Heerfordt, who likely influenced her pursuit of the arts from a young age.

Heerfordt studied at the Royal Danish Academy of Fine Arts in Copenhagen, where she honed her skills and developed her distinct style. During her studies, she was influenced by the prevailing artistic movements of her time, including Realism and Impressionism, which can be observed in her approach to color and light.
