Hubert Sattler's art was influenced by the Romantic movement, and he became particularly well-known for his 'Weltpanorama' or 'Cosmoramas', which were detailed depictions of landscapes and cityscapes from around the world.

Sattler studied at the Academy of Fine Arts Vienna and traveled extensively, which greatly influenced his work. His journeys took him across Europe, North Africa, the Middle East, and North America, where he gathered impressions and sketches that would later form the basis of his studio works.
