Anton Perko Paintings

Anton Perko was a Slovenian painter known for his landscape and genre paintings, as well as for his portraits. Born on December 17, 1862, in Polzela, then part of the Austrian Empire and now in Slovenia, Perko displayed an early talent for art, which led him to pursue his passion for painting.

After initial studies in Graz, Perko moved to Vienna, where he continued his education at the Academy of Fine Arts. He was influenced by the academic style prevalent at the time but was also open to the impressionistic tendencies that were starting to take hold in European art circles.
