"Treasury of Loyal Retainers" (忠臣蔵 Chūshingura) is a classic Japanese play written by Takeda Izumo and his collaborators, Miyoshi Shōraku and Namiki Senryū. It is not authored by Sadahide Hashimoto. The play is a fictionalized account of the real-life events involving the forty-seven rōnin and their mission to avenge the death of their master, Asano Naganori.
