"Études de Ciel" by Jean Henri Zuber is a series of panoramic wallpaper designs created by the French artist and manufacturer in the 19th century. Jean Henri Zuber (1807–1899) was renowned for his scenic wallpaper and murals, and his company, Zuber & Cie, established in 1797, is one of the last remaining manufacturers of woodblock printed wallpapers. The "Études de Ciel," which translates to "Studies of the Sky," reflects Zuber's fascination with the natural beauty and varying moods of the sky. These designs were part of a broader trend during the Romantic period, where artists and designers sought to capture and reflect the sublime aspects of nature.
The "Études de Ciel" series is characterized by its detailed and realistic depiction of the sky at different times of the day and under various weather conditions.
